The design of Interactive Intelligent Learning Systems using Fuzzy Logic and Neural Networks within an Individual Learning Styles Framework

Introduction

Man has, for several decades tried to produce an intelligent learning process in which individuals could progress through a learning programme toward a guaranteed outcome. Many systems have been developed and tested within educational establishments with limited and varying degrees of success.

Today’s technology may be able to provide an answer to this problem and this discussion document is an attempt to bring together what I consider to be the most significant advances and open them for debate. The document will not provide answers, it poses questions and I look forward to hear your reaction.

Dr Lockitt has over forty-five years’ experience in education and has written several publications highlighting the effective use of multimedia flexible and open learning. Since 2010 Dr Lockitt has been the strategic policy Director for G2G Communities CIC and in 2011 managed the implementation of the first not for profit, community focused LEGO Education Innovation Studio in the UK.
